 Pride just got a stadium. But the mission started long before the ballpark.

Bay Area Pride is an independent LGBTQIA+ community celebration rooted in the South Bay — and we exist for one reason: to unite a siloed and fragmented Bay Area into a thriving, interconnected community where every voice belongs and every identity is celebrated.


We are not in competition with the municipal and regional Pride celebrations that have served this community for decades. We honor them. We celebrate alongside them. We are something different — a grassroots, community-first gathering that builds bridges between organizations, neighborhoods, cultures, and people who too often celebrate separately.


Where other events celebrate Pride, Bay Area Pride celebrates each other.


Our difference is unity. Our measure of success is not a headcount — it is whether the people who leave our events know more of their neighbors than when they arrived. Whether the organizations in our community feel more connected than before. Whether the South Bay feels a little less fragmented and a little more like home.


Three years in, we believe the answer is yes. And we're just getting started.

Our Journey

We launched Bay Area Pride with a bang — an electrifying concert event at Great America celebrating Pride through the lens of Prince's Purple Rain, 40 years on. The night featured Red Corvette, one of the Bay Area's most celebrated Prince tribute bands, the breathtaking Folklórico Colibrí led by Arturo Magaño — queer Folklórico dancers whose performance brought the full beauty of Mexican cultural tradition into proud LGBTQIA+ expression — and the electrifying Keldamuzik, bringing soulful energy to a night the South Bay won't forget. Hosting with brilliance and heart: Queera Knightly, drag superstar and Bay Area Pride's founding hostess. The buzz traveled far. Bay Area Pride was featured in a 30-minute interview with Morris Knight on KBLX, bringing our story to the broader Bay Area community for the first time. Purple Rain. Purple reign. The South Bay would never be the same.

YEAR 1 - 2024

Celebrating Pride in Purple Rain -  Great America, Santa Clara, CA

Year two brought us back to the earth — a community picnic at Santa Clara Central Park with an extraordinary lineup of local Filipino, Black, and Latino artists whose performances reflected the full, beautiful diversity of our South Bay community. Folklórico Colibrí, led by Arturo Magaño, returned for a second stunning performance — and so did Keldamuzik — artists who have become Bay Area Pride traditions, returning because the community called them back. The afternoon was graced by a special appearance from Sister T'aint a Virgin of the San Francisco Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence — the legendary queer community-based charity whose ministry of joy, expiation of stigmatic guilt, and promulgation of universal joy has served communities across the world for decades. Her presence was a blessing, a celebration, and a statement: Bay Area Pride belongs to the whole community. Soulful, vibrant, and exactly right.

YEAR 2 - 2025

Community Picnic - Santa Clara Central Park, Santa Clara, CA

This year we're taking the ballpark — and we're doing it as a community, to honor the heroes who made us possible. The 3rd Annual Bay Area Pride at Excite Ballpark is more than a celebration. It is a collaboration — a deliberate act of community building by an event that has spent three years doing what the South Bay needs most: bringing together a siloed and fragmented Bay Area into a thriving, interconnected community where every voice belongs and every identity is celebrated. This night honors three South Bay legends: 🏳️‍🌈 Billy DeFrank — drag pioneer, activist, and one of the South Bay's most beloved LGBTQIA+ champions. The Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center, which bears his name and carries his legacy, celebrates its 45th anniversary this very night — 45 years of showing up for this community, no matter what. ⚾ The San Jose Giants — our local American heroes, the 2025 California League Champions, who have opened Excite Ballpark to welcome the full South Bay community to this historic Pride celebration. 🎭 Per Sia — San Francisco's Drag Laureate, gracing our stage with a performance that belongs in Pride history. Three forces. One convener. One night. One community under the lights.

My Life's Path Spiritual Center is an independent California Religious Corporation and the radically inclusive spiritual community behind Bay Area Pride.


We are rooted in nature. Our path draws from earth-based wisdom, Indigenous traditions, and the practice of Buddhism — traditions that teach reverence for the living world, presence over performance, and community as sacred practice. We gather outdoors because we believe the earth was the first sanctuary and still the best one.

Meet Sandie Day — Founder, Bay Area Pride & My Life's Path Spiritual Center


Sandie Day didn't set out to build a movement. She set out to build a community.


A connector by nature and a Guide by calling, Sandie has spent her life bringing people together across the lines that too often keep us apart — culture, identity, faith, neighborhood. She saw a South Bay LGBTQIA+ community that was vibrant but fragmented, celebrating separately when it deserved to celebrate together. So she did what connectors do: she built the room.


In 2024, Bay Area Pride was born — launching with an electrifying concert at Great America honoring Prince's Purple Rain legacy. What started as one night has grown into the South Bay's most intentional act of community unity: three years, three stages, hundreds of neighbors who are strangers no more.


Sandie is also the founder and Guide of My Life's Path Spiritual Center — an independent, radically inclusive spiritual community that gathers outdoors every Sunday at Santa Clara Central Park. Rooted in nature, Indigenous wisdom, and the practice of presence, My Life's Path is the spiritual home for people who weren't sure they had one. Dogs enthusiastically welcome. #PoochChurch 🐾
